He says he’s just an ordinary monk, we think he’s an extraordinary example of compassion in action. Join us in celebrating the birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, with an evening highlighting the beauty of Tibetan culture.

On the night:

• Experience traditional Tibetan chanting by Lama Khedup Bhutia
• Sit in a guided meditation with Venerable Michael Losang Yeshe (Tara Institute)
• Listen to traditional folk singing by Tenzing Yeshe
• Enjoy traditional Tibetan dancing by members of the Tibetan Community of Australia (Victoria)
• Enjoy the screening of ‘The Last Dalai Lama?’

About the film:
The Last Dalai Lama? takes a fresh look at what is important for the 14th Dalai Lama at 82: The historic confrontation between Tibet & China; his influence in political, spiritual and educational spheres; and his personal feelings on ageing, dying and whether he will be the last Dalai Lama.

The film is enhanced by a beautiful original music score composed and performed by Phillip Glass and Tenzin Choegyal.

The Tibetan Community of Victoria, (Melbourne) are happy to present this first public  screening of The Last Dalai Lama?  in Melbourne.
